Erica's Birthday

Today was our first day in Europe, and outside of our honeymoon (a very insulated experience), this is our first real trip outside of the country. Today seemed like it would never end, which was mostly great because it was Erica's birthday. The only problem was we wanted to make more of the day because of it being her birthday, but we were suffering from a severe lack of sleep coming into the trip and lost 6 hours because of flying from Omaha to the UK.
Upon arrival in Dublin we dropped our stuff off at Barnacles Temple Bar Hostel where we we're staying tonight and then hit the town. We went to Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green and Dublin Castle to name a few. We did make it to the Guiness brewery but were too cheap to shell out the 11 euros a person to take the tour...oh well, at least we can say we saw it. The one thing we've found is that Dubin's bus transit system is very confusing, at least to us, and they don't provide any maps of the routes, you just basically have to figure it out. Because of this we rarely took the bus today and walked A LOT. By the time we wanted to "celebrate" Erica's birthday we were dog tired but we pressed on. We went to a place called Porterhouse Brewery in the Temple Bar area, they claim to be "the last real Irish brewery" or something like that. We both did beer samplers, three smaller portions of their own original brews. The place was fun and definitely no where we thought we'd ever be on one of our birthdays, the only thing that was missing for a birthday celebration was defintely family & friends...but we had each other and had a great time.
